Advocacy
Join us as we strategize how to improve the laws, policies and services that affect our day-to-day lives. CILSF partners with disability rights activists across the city, state and country, plus maintains relationships with elected officials, in order to foster our independence, integration and civil rights.
Information & Referral
Ask us anything! Our experienced Information & Referral Specialists will put you on the right path to the solutions you seek. We keep up-to-date with local providers and resources that can further enhance your independence and community integration.
Peer Support
We get it… A majority of our staff are people with disabilities and are passionate about offering others with disabilities peer support and counseling as you work towards obtaining or maintaining your independent living goals – let’s motivate each other!
Independent Living Skills
Have you checked out our Calendar tab, yet? CILSF provides a variety of opportunities to participate in weekly classes, workshops, and one-on-one trainings on a wide range of topics that promote independent living. Our goal is to assist you in reaching your maximum independence – let’s get to work!
Transitions: Community & Youth
If you’re looking to transition from an institutional setting, such as a nursing home or a rehabilitation center, into community or home based living, our Independent Living Advocates can help you develop a customized plan and recommend services and local resources that will guide you throughout the entire process.
If you’re about the graduate from high school and need some guidance as you transition into college and/or the workforce, do not hesitate to contact us today! We have several programs and services that can give you a head start on your preparations.
