Core Services
Eligibility Requirements
If you are a person with a disability, you are eligible to participate in services at the Center for Independent Living of South Florida. Our core services are provided at no charge to you.
Individual & Systems Advocacy
The Systems Advocacy team works to improve the laws, policies, regulations and services that affect the day to day lives of people with disabilities. CILSF partners with disability rights activists across the city, state and country in order to foster the independence, integration and civil rights of people with disabilities.
Peer Support
We offer Peer Support and Counseling for persons with disabilities as they work toward either obtaining or maintaining independent lives in the community. Peers are individuals who have something in common with each other and provide role modeling and often the motivation in others to envision the possibilities and develop the strategies to obtain their vision for themselves.
Independent Living Skills Training
CILSF provides a variety of opportunities to participate in classes, workshops and one to one training on a wide range of topics that promote independence living. Our skills training encompasses almost all aspects of an individuals life, with our goal to assist with maximum independence.
Information & Referral
Our staff can direct you to basic information, local providers and resources to help promote your independence, access and community integration.
